DAC members can train on the track at Moorways again
Good news for athletes – Derby Athletic Club members can train on the track at Moorways again from Tuesday 25 August 2020. Many thanks for your patience while a restart to training has been organised.
Initial sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Training, including session times, is only through agreement with your coach, as group sizes initially need to be limited. Please do not turn up at the track without liaising with your coach.
To train at Moorways as a DAC athlete, you need to have paid your annual fee or (at least) have submitted your membership form. http://derbyathletic.club/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/DerbyAC-Renewal-Form-2020-GG-1.docx (We are aware there have been issues around accessing the payment portal.) This is to ensure we have full details of who is at the track, to comply with COVID-19 rules.
If you want to train, please liaise with your coach to arrange a session. If you are a senior athlete who does not have a regular coach, please email email@example.com
The club committee has agreed to relax the age limits for athletes in training groups to return to the track – so U11 and U13 athletes who are part of a training group are now welcome to re-register and return to training.
However, at this time we are not restarting the Induction group:
- Numbers would be difficult to manage within COVID-19 restrictions
- We need more coaches to help with this group
Initially training will be on the track only, including sprints, middle distance and long-distance running.
There will be no toilets or catering facilities.
A one-way system will be in operation at Moorways.
Athletes will need to sign in with their coach on arrival, and maintain social distancing and good hand hygiene.
Please do not come to Moorways if you or anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 or has any of the main symptoms of COVID-19:
- A continuous cough
- Loss of taste or smell
