North Midlands Cross Country 2023
If any junior academy runners want to compete in the north midlands XC league, the venues are listed below. Athletes can turn up on the day to compete without any sign up. Ideally a coach/ helper from the junior academy would attend to manage any younger athletes, take to the start line and collect finishing tokens. I will be at the Markeaton event , but happy to speak to anyone beforehand. I’ll be in clubroom Thursday evening. (Under 11’s approx 1.5km.) Just turn up, I’d advise at least 30mins prior to check out course and warm up. On arrival head for the DAC tent, it’s usually a hive of activity and always good to get a few same age athletes together to warm up.
Also parking will be busy.. Angela Ward – Acting Chair and Catering/Operations Officer
Event info North midlands League XC Markeaton Park 14th October
For those competing in this event for the first time thank you for getting involved and representing Derby AC. On the day of race we advise getting to the park at least an hour prior to your race to warm up and familiarise yourself with the course . There’s lots of parking available in the main Car park off Markeaton island or at the mundy centre car park . Both these car parks are pay and display
The club tent will be located near to the finish by the main path . You don’t need to do anything before your race just make sure you’re on the start line around 5 mins before the gun . A club vest or T shirt will be need to race. No other kit will be allowed I’m afraid.
Once you have finished you will be given a token with your finishing position on . At the end of the finish funnel , Becky our club official will be collecting these tokens and registering your name for the results. Failure to give the token to Becky will mean you won’t be recorded in the results and your position won’t count. Once you’ve been recorded you can then return to the club tent for a well deserved rest .
