Athletes brave rain to battle for Carson Cup

Congratulations to the 30 athletes who braved the wet conditions at this year’s Derby Athletic Club Carson cup handicap race on Tuesday (30 July).

Jack Finnegan, Carson Cup winner, and Sam Wood, fastest Under 15 boy.

Well done to Jack Finnegan, who was the winner of the Carson Cup with a dominant victory. Fastest female was Bethan Hudson, with the trophy for fastest male and fastest overall time going to Dan Haymes.

Fastest under 15 girl for the second year running was Betty Cresswell and the fastest under 15 boy was Sam Wood

Some athletes were competing in the Carson Cup for the first time, so the club hopes you enjoyed it and we will see you next year. Many thanks to race organisers and officials who ensured it all ran smoothly despite the wet weather.
