DAC runners scoop individual and team wins at County Cross Country
Derby Athletic Club runners scooped a marvellous series of results at the Derbyshire Cross Country Championships at the weekend (Saturday 4 January).
The event, on a very muddy Shipley Park course, saw DAC dominant with individual wins for U13 Boys, U15 Boys, U15 Girls and Senior Women. There was also a team gold for the U13 Boys, a team silver for the U13 Girls, a team silver and bronze for the U15 Girls, a team silver for the U17 Men and a clean sweep of gold, silver and bronze team medals for the U15 Boys.
In total an impressive 45 DAC athletes completed the course, and the top eight athletes overall now have county selection to compete in the UK cross country championships in March.
Individual wins came for Lisa Palmer-Blount (Senior Women), Sarah Bourne (U15 Girls), Paddy Welsh (U15 Boys) and William Wright (U13 Boys).
· Derby Athletic Club runner Jack Davies won the North Wales U17 cross country championships on the same day.
