Fantastic day at county cross-country champs as Derby Athletic Club scoops trophies

Cross country runners from Derby Athletic Club had an amazing day at Derbyshire Cross Country Championships, scooping a host of trophies and medals in very challenging, cold conditions.

The event, hosted by Heanor Running Club at Shipley Park on 4 January 2025, saw DAC come away with eight team trophies (out of a total of 13 awarded) as well as individual victories and podium finishes in almost every race. Many DAC runners have now been invited to represent the county at the upcoming Inter-Counties event – best of luck to them.

The championships feature races from U11 up to men’s and women’s races which combine U20, Senior and Vet categories.

Massive congratulations to all the DAC runners and many thanks to organisers Heanor Running Club, as well as to DAC coaches, officials and marshals, and parents, friends and supporters who attended the event.
