Patricija wins place at English Schools Combined Events

A big congratulations to Derby Athletic Club multi-eventer Patricija Nemanyte, who posted a PB points score in the Midlands Regional Combined Events final on 23 June to become the U15 girls regional champion.

Her winning points score of 2829 in the pentathlon, more than 100 points ahead of the second-placed athlete in a strong field of 20, means she goes forward to the English Schools Combined Events finals, being held this year in Exeter in September.

The Derbyshire U15 girls team also won the team event and will go through to the English Schools finals.

Over the course of one day, Patricija competed in 75m hurdles, where she came second in the fastest heat, high jump, long jump, where she came third, shot, where she won with 10.98 – just 12cm off her PB – and a final 800m.
