Success for sprints group at indoor events

Derby Athletic Club athletes from the sprints ad jumps group have scored successes in indoor championships this winter.

Runners from the group competed in the Northern Championships at the EIS in Sheffield in January, with great effort from Eliott, Tye, Ella, Mya, Florence, Angelica and Jade.

They gave a good account of themselves in a challenging competition. Gaining PBs were Eliott (60m), Tye (60m), Mya (60m) and Jade (200m) with SBs for Ella (60m), Florence (200m) and Angelica (400m).

And sprinters Tom and Manuel competed in open events at the EIS in January February, with Tom gaining a PB in the 200m and Manuel an SB in the long jump.

Florence was also competing at the EIS in February at the Sheffield Festival, medalling in the 60m with a second place.

Four of the group, Tom, Florence, Mya and Angelica, have qualified for the England Indoor Championships at the EIS later in February.
