Quad Kids

Quad-Kids

Quad-Kids Competitions are run by many different clubs across the UK but Derby AC are aiming hold to more events at Moorways Stadium.

Quad-Kids is a great competition where our younger athletes can gain invaluable experience (and have great fun too) in a competitive environment.

Each athlete will compete in 4 events:

  • 75m sprint,
  • 600m run,
  • long jump and
  • howler javelin

and will gain points based on performance in each event; very similar to the much more widely known heptathlon or decathlon.

The next Quad Kids events will be published in the news section and also within the Clubroom.

Cross Country and Road Races

The Club supports the North Midlands Cross Country Leagues throughout the winter months (October to January).

This League offers races for Seniors/Masters, Under 17, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 for both females and males.

Teams are entered in to the Northern and National Cross Country Championships (including relays) in all age groups and both genders.

Teams are also entered in to the Northern and National Road Relays in September/October and April.

In September/October the Senior Men race over 6 stages, the Women over 4 stages and the Under 17s, Under 15s, and Under 13s race over 3 stages.

In the April Relays the men’s team comprises 12 stages (they qualify for the Nationals via the Northern) and the women’s over 6 stages and they can enter the Nationals direct without having to qualify.

Please take a look on the committee or contact us page to view contact details for the relevant team managers or alternatively contact our competitions manager for details, Richard Wilson

In addition, there are the County Championships, for Cross Country (individual entry) in January covering all age groups and both genders.
