YDL Team-Managers Letter to all Athletes, Parents & Officials
Well done to all athletes who took part in our third Lower YDL match at Kirkby in Ashfield. We came second in the match and second overall in our league division, based upon points scored across all three YDL matches. This means that we are through to the regional final ! The regional match will take place in Banbury on Saturday 21st July. Please try and keep this date free as we need to have as stronger team as possible to be in with a chance of promotion. Sign up sheets will be available in the club room foyer / track stand from next week. Last day to sign up will be Tuesday 17th July.
Getting through to the promotion match has been a real team effort, not only from the athletes, but from the parents who have provided transport and encouragement, from the officials who contributed to the organisation of the events and from the coaches who attended to support their athletes. Thank you to you all.
Thank you also to the parents who offered to help with officiating. I have put you on a list of parents who might be available to help at future matches if required. If anybody else would be willing to add their name to this list please let us know. There is no obligation, its just so that our officials officer knows which parents he could try to contact if we are really stuck for help. Having our full quota of officials at matches is important as we lose points if we don’t have the required number. It would involve a commitment of about an hour.
